In 2008, my buddy and colleauge Daniel Sørensen and myself spent over 3 months together in China, to support each other in finding fabric suppliers and manufacturing to establish each our brands. We finally realized that China was too big for small designers as ourselves, but we sure came back to Norway with lots and lots of experience, memories and pictures.
What I actually miss, is the food. There are so many different kinds of flavours, due to the size of the country and all the regions. We lived in the South, dominated by the Cantonese cuisine. However, I find the flavours of the Hunan kitchen so much more interesting. But it was a struggle in the beginning, though, due to their massive use of chili (they put chili in ALL dishes!).

The view from our flat!
Pearl River by night
Rowing competition, shouting and extreme amounts of fireworks! No idea what they were celebrating, but it seemed to be huge!
Sub-tropical rain!
We didn’t mind the rain, the surroundings was so beautiful.
Crazy traffic!

We cought a glimse of the Olympic torch passing by, from the 30-something-floor.
A beautiful garden inside the University Sun Yat Sen.
Danny killing time…
Sunday activity: pedal boats
We chose the red bear
And then there were food, lots of it and quite interesting…
No taste and super-sticky!
Durian fruit, smells like s**t, tastes like banana-pineapple
Chicken & rice in banana leafs – very good
Korean fried pot, my fave!
I have really no idea, but I remember that we did NOT order! We chose fish instead!
Chicken feet… mmmm.
Soup with black chicken

I had never seen black chicken before…
